Foreign investors ploughed OR7.4 billion ($19.21 billion) into the country last year, almost a billion more than in 2015, according to government data. The news was welcomed by analysts and experts as a healthy indicator that Oman is on the right track to diversify and grow, said a Times of Oman report. The economy witnessed an increase of OR800 million ($2.07 billion) in foreign direct investments last year, according to the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI), it said. CHINA is striving to make itself more inviting to foreign direct investment (FDI) and foreign talents by widening market access and bettering business environment. The decision is made at a State Council executive meeting presided over by Premier Li Keqiang on Friday. The negative-list-based market access regime for foreign capital, already in trial in the country’s 11 free trade zones, will be rolled out nationwide as soon as possible, and more sectors will be more open for FDI. Profits of foreign-invested companies will be guaranteed free flow out of China. To make China more appealing to foreign talents, the government will put in place a work permit system for foreigners working in China, with detailed guidelines for visa application and evaluation benchmarks for widened access to foreign talents to be developed in the second half of this year. On July 5, a delegation from FEMOZA was received at the Berne Federal Palace by Mr Stefan Kloetzli, the Diplomatic Councillor and Mr. Simon Caduff, Deputy Regional Coordinator East Asia, to whom we expressed our desire to organise a major event on the Free & Special Economic Zones in Geneva, in early 2018. Where, aside from the sector’s current subjects, a special panel will be introduced for the “One belt, one road” project, of which FEMOZA is a part. Work has been ongoing for this project for several months now and endorsement has been received from several Swiss and international institutions. The program, dates and venue will be announced during the month of September We are both proud and happy that a project of such international renown be held in the city of Geneva, of the world’s most significant economic and financial hubs.

Barcelona, 3 Julio 2017.- El delegado del Estado en el Consorci de la Zona Franca de Barcelona, Jordi Cornet, y el vicepresidente de la Shanghai Pilot Free Trade Zone Administration, Wang Xin Ling, han firmado hoy un acuerdo de cooperación por el que ambas zonas francas se comprometen a colaborar y a mantener una relación estable. La delegación de la Shanghai Pilot Free Trade Zone Administration ha visitado hoy la Zona franca barcelonesa y posteriormente el recinto de la Autoridad Portuaria de Barcelona en una estancia que busca dar a conocer Shanghai como enclave de comercio internacional y promover la zona piloto gubernamental creada hace ahora tres años. El acuerdo pretende establecer vínculos estables, favorecer el intercambio de información empresarial y administrativa entre las dos entidades gestoras de zonas francas (ambas entidades son públicas y favorecer la visibilidad de ambas en sus respectivos ámbitos de influencia.
