Plans have just been disclosed for the six to be rebuilt on the initial segment of works between Lehel tér and the northern terminus at Újpest-központ. Limited services and replacement buses will run on this stretch in the meantime. These six stations, all found between the Dózsa György út and Újpest-központ stops, will be identical in appearance. Luring them here are all kinds of animals, able to roam in similar surroundings to their natural habitat, brown bears, lynx, raccoons and owls. Found just the other side of Budapest’s city limits from north-west Buda, Budakeszi Wildlife Park comprises some 200 creatures, whose forested home is an easy hop by city bus from Széll Kálmán tér. We haven't had any Vietnamese food since our visit to the Vietnamese Festival back in the summer, so we thought it was time to get our Vietnamese food fix! We decided to try out Viet Eat - a small compact restaurant located in London's Holborn. It's only a stone throw away from Holborn station, so you'll find it easily. It was pretty busy and we had to squeeze onto a table amongst other customers. So if you're looking for a quick, easy and decently priced meal in an intimate setting, Viet Eat is your place to go!We opted for a few of the traditional Vietnamese dishes to try: Vietnamese Iced Coffee - THE drink to have when eating Vietnamese food. Strong filtered coffee, creamy from the evaporated milk. This one had just the right amount of sweetness added. A must try! Beef Pho - We had mixed opinions about this. The beef was tender and the taste of the onions were really coming through. Kitty though the broth could've had more depth to it, Robert thought it was just right. If we're

Budapest’s great hidden gems: Rock Museum

The Rock Museum is a little-known labor of love tucked away in a wing of the RaM Colosseum hall in deepest Újlipótváros. Conceived by fans of rock’s golden age, it clings to an era when Hungarian music lovers got their kicks from clandestine radio shows of Western bands. Arcane equipment, groovy posters, portraits of Hungary’s rock greats, they’re all here. As well as the permanent collection, which runs up to the cut-off point of 1989, regular temporary shows have featured the Beatles, Zep and Elvis – with Kiss now the focus. The museum operates on Friday evenings and weekend afternoons.

Hungary’s celebrated snowdrop sprouts early in Budapest

With drooping white petals draped from bold green stalks audaciously popping up amid frigid landscapes, the local snowdrop or "hóvirág” is a cherished wintertime sight among Magyars who regard this early-blooming Central European plant as a harbinger of springtime. Usually these seemingly sleepy florets first awaken in late February or March, but Budapest Zoo reports that a hóvirág spontaneously sprouted there in early January, many weeks before its ordinary arrival time – is this a sign that spring is coming soon, or a symptom of weird winter weather?

Renovation to make garden bloom again at Budapest’s National Museum

Found in the heart of Budapest, a sylvan parkland envelops the historic Hungarian National Museum. While this pretty garden usually fills with life in the warmer months, when students from the nearby universities retreat here to study or just to chill out after the classes, this welcome expanse of greenery on the Small Boulevard has long required restoration. Now, the modernization of the park is under way, enhancing this 19th-century space with more trees, finely designed fixtures and a Wi-Fi connection. Works should be completed by summer.
