We suppose it could mean cooking […]

Boiled Peanuts Recipe [Seasoned With Salt]

Many Vietnamese people fled their home country after the Vietnam War and ended up in Louisiana. The Vietnamese were exposed to new, local foods resulting in some current mainstays of Vietnamese cuisine, such as Cajun crawfish boil, chicory in Vietnamese coffee and of course, boiled peanuts. These are popularly boiled with just salt, or with Cajun spices, but in this recipe we’re […]

Vegetarian Thai food: Kin Dee | Stil in Berlin

by @ Stil in Berlin

One of my favourite openings of the year was without a doubt , the Thai restaurant under the direction of head chef Dalad Kambhu and restaurant manager Moritz Estermann that took over the space of renown  in the spring. From the start, Dalad made a point of focussing on the strengths of her home country's cooking: fresh, high quality ingredients and intense herb & spice mixes. That's why she rather uses local produce like kohlrabi or radishes than imported veggies, and makes all her pastes in house. And much to my delight, she also included plenty vegetarian dishes from the beginning. By now, six months after opening their doors, there's a full on vegetarian menu with many new dishes, that I can very much recommend. And for all you non-veggie friends out there: the meat and fish options are seriously delicious as well, my fellow eaters usually drool over the confit octopus with Kaprao sauce, some of them saying it's the best they've ever eaten.

How to Block Promoted Tweets on Twitter on iPhone or iPad

by @ How to of the Day

This wikiHow teaches you how to block promotional tweets on the Twitter app for the iPhone and iPad. Promoted tweets are paid advertisement tweets and while it's not possible to block all ads in the official Twitter app, you can hide specific individual tweets, block accounts that promote tweets, as well as opt out of personalized ads. Opting-out of personalized ads won't remove ads from Twitter, but it will prevent Twitter from collecting data to target you with personalized ads. The only way to block all Twitter ads is to use a third-party app that doesn't contain ads—but most of those apps aren't free.
